Our Backwards Update!

Because I don't update very often, I always forget the last pictures I upload are going to display first. Maybe if I type it, next time I might remember. So this is our Backwards Update! Just watch the dates on the pictures.
Kellen receives his football trophy. This was his first time playing on a team, he got to play QB a few times, defence and receiver.
This was his last game, he caught an interception. Too bad he played for YMCA and it just doesn't mean the same.
Our Primary Scripture Harvest Carnival-Jakob as Abinadi (or as Jakob calls him, "The man in fire") and Kellen as Captain Moroni (Kellen says "Captain Remoni").
Kellen turns 7! OH MY GOSH! Birthday with his cousins.
In August we went to Camp Wooten with ALL of Scott's family, about 120 (his Mom's siblings and all their kids). It's a great 3 days with family, this is our second time going. Great location with plenty of space for the kids to play. Scott and the boys visit the canoe on the little lake.
The HUGE slip and slide enjoyed by all ages.
A big attraction is the craft area. The kids love the time with parents doing crafts anytime of the day.
Earlier in August, I took the boys to Lake Powell. Yes, I am crazy. I thought I was going to be driving the whole way by myself, however my awesome sister and her 2 girls decided to go. So I only had to drive to Willard, Utah by myself. Then the 6 of us made it the rest of the way. The drive is worth it, I did question it many times. But the time with our Colorado family is priceless. We don't get to see them very often, so when we do, we make it count! The boys had a great time, they loved it all. This is cousin Maisy, Jakob and Kellen jumping off the houseboat.
This year we made it to the sand dunes. We had to hike up the canyon, the water level was too low to take the boats. On the way the kids found and killed a lot of little frogs, didn't kill on purpose; little hands on little frogs just is not a good thing for the frogs.
When we started our journey there were a few clouds in the sky; when we reached the dunes, a few more clouds; we started our hike back to the boats at the first drop of rain, and by the time we made it back to the boats it was a full out Lake Powell rain storm: thunder, lightning and all. The kids did well with the loud thunder. Thankful for mom and aunts in the boats praying for our safety.
Kellen goes knee boarding.
On the banana with cousins Scout, Rhett, Parker and Maisy, representin' the girls!!
The boys went with me to the 19 week ultrasound. We did not find out the sex of the baby. If you ask Jakob, the baby is a girl because I am a girl. I am not sure how he thinks he came to be??? A topic to be discussed later.

sUmMeR!

This summer the boys did swimming lessons and soccer. Both Kellen and Jakob made huge progress with the swimming, maybe not so much progress for Jakob in soccer.
This is Jakob doing his "star" aka back float by himself, he was so excited he did it by himself, he was even able to tell me (which I was excited about)!
Kellen did level 3 this summer and he worked on his diving and fine-tuning the front and back crawl.
Kellen loves any sport with a ball! He really enjoys playing goalie.
Jakob does chase the ball more than this picture leads you to believe.

Camping at Wind Dust with Dan and Andrea. This is a great little campground, which is right on the Snake River, only about an hour away and FREE!
Kellen and Rylee chillin' by the fire, waiting to roast marshmellows.
Down by the river Jakob found a "cheese rock", I guess he called it that because it had holes??
Cousings playing in the river, Heidi, Abby, Jakob, Morgan, Kellen.
The kids built pop bottle rockets, tons of fun. The boys were racing to see whose went higher. I think I am a great photographer with my action shot!

This summer we also went to Idaho Falls for a Thompson Family Reunion.
Cousins singing "Elvira" up-side-down, the picture does not do it justice. It was very funny, thanks Sara!
Stacking ourselves to bake in the sun. Emilee, Jamie, Ang, Aunt Debbie, Mom, Me.
This is "Grammy" with the great grandchildren that were at the family reunion. We missed those that were not there with us.

And Now for Our BIG news!!

Baby # 3 will be here sometime in December!

JAKOB TURNS 4!!

Jakob had a great birthday with his cousins. We are glad they are so close. This is my awesome train cake. We celebrated on the 21st so on the 23rd his actual birthday Scott said "Happy Birthday Jakob" Jakob replied "now I 5?!" He thought when we had cake he turned 4 and when we said Happy Birthday again he was already 5!

LET THE AWKWARD STAGE BEGIN!

This morning Kellen said "I bit my tooth and it hurt", like any good parent Scott said "Oh you bit your cheek? Are you ok?" Kellen insisted that he bit his tooth and we all went on with our day. When Kellen got home from school, again with the biting his tooth thing, like any dumb parent I had no idea what he was talking about and went on with my day. About an hour later it finally dawned on me that just maybe Kellen had a loose tooth. Of course through out the day Kellen had been playing with his tooth with his tongue and by the time I checked it out his tooth was super loose. So we all got excited, Kellen asked how we could get it out I told him...
Go get an apple and take a few bites! Like any good kid he listened and 2 bites later...
He spit his first lost baby tooth out into his hand.
I know it's hard to tell where the tooth came from with his gap, but it is the hole on the right. The tooth to the left of the center one is also loose; thus bringing us back to the title of this post...LET THE AWKWARD STAGE BEGIN!

Kellen is very excited for the Tooth Fairy to come and thanks to the movie, Santa Clause 2, he thinks the Tooth Fairy is a man! He is so stinkin' cute and innocent!

MeRrY ChRiStMaS!!

Ok Ok I am so sorry to all of you. Christmas cards and letters have been a tradition for a few years now and this year we just didn't get to them. I think posting a "Merry Christmas" on our blog is like the lamest thing ever, but it's all you're getting this year. And you don't even get a picture, again I am sorry. I was going to post a video of Kellen singing the 12 Days of Christmas. It was really cute, but of course I can't figure out how to blog a video. So you just get to read. There are a few reasons for the lack of card this year.
1) No New Family Picture
2) We were quite busy (I know everyone is)
3) Scott broke his hand.
Yes, Scott broke his hand a few weeks ago and so could not type up a letter. We all know I like to think I am as funny as Scott, but we all know (including myself) that I am not. So I did not attempt the Whitemarsh letter. However, I could not go without doing something, so here it is.

Scott breaking his hand is probably the most exciting thing anyways and that is not very exciting. He is still able to work, which we are so, so, so thankful for. He broke it doing an adjustment. I guess the correct term would be fractured. It did not completely break or shift the bone, again we are so thankful for that. He is stabelizing it with a brace and taking x-rays every couple weeks to check the progress. It is nice having your own x-ray machine. He didn't have to go anywhere to have them done. The business is doing well. We are able to take care of our family and pay our bills. We did hire a receptionist this year, cutting my time at the office way down.

I am only in the office on Fridays to pay bills and do that boring stuff we don't want to pay anyone else to do. So yes, I am now a PTA mom. I go in with Kellen every Tuesday to help with a math masters game day and I go in Wednesdays to help with Jr. Joggers. Kellen is in Kindergarten but he stays with me and participates with 1st and 2nd graders. I have been going to the gym and have lost some weight. We will see how the holidays treat me. I still enjoy the good food!

Kellen is in Kindergarten and loves it. He is happy everyday after school and still looks forward to going. I know this will not last forever. I am enjoying it while it does. He is very helpful, he will do anything if there is a reward attached. He is very sweet and tender most of the time. He does enjoy making Jakob scream when he can.

Jakob goes to preschool 3 days a week with "iis eee" (Mrs. B). He loves "eeeool" (preschool). He too looks forward to going and gets very mad on the 2 days he doesn't get to go to school and Kellen does. He goes to speech once a week at the "ig ool" (big school) or "kaka ool" (Kellen's school). We have seen a huge imporvement with his confidence and language. He is really trying more. He has more and more to say everyday and now I can't get him to be quiet. I still don't understand it all but he is making an effort!

That is us, if you have been cheking out the blog you have seen our year for the most part. We do hope you all have a Very Merry Christmas, and thank you to those that got around to your letters. We do enjoy them .
