KELLEN'S BIRTHDAY & HALLOWEEN

Kellen is 5! Kellen thinks he is officially the age after the "Birthday Song" and the candles are out, and no sooner. He did not think he was five that day until we actually had all of the festivities.
For his birthday we went to the Pumpkin Patch, we rode in the tractor pulley wagon, got a few pumpkins, and went through the maze.
We are pretty sunflowers. My boys might be angry with this picture when they are older. However, they were both willing participants.
So Jakob really did not want anything to do with his scarecrow costume. While I was making it I would show it to him and he would cry. Scott did not think we would be able to get him into it for the big day. I knew that once Jakob saw his reward, he would have no problem getting into the AWESOME COSTUME I made.
OK so Jakob is still not thrilled at the Trunk-or-Treat. His bucket is still empty.
Kellen was a skeleton. He found his costume himself at Value Village and was so excited to be a green skeleton. He kept asking us if we liked his costume.
I know Jakob does not look happy in this picture either, but he really was. He was thrilled with his bucket of JUNK trunk-or-treat candy.
I know there are a lot of pictures, but I have to rant for a moment (and Jakob is smiling here). After the trunk-or-treat we took the boys around our neighborhood to get some good candy. Come on folks- If you are the ones that go to WinCo and buy bulk candy for the trunk-or-treat PLEASE STOP! We all know that we take our kids out on Halloween so we too can have free candy. So how about next year we all help each other out and buy good candy for the trunk-or-treat. I am just doing my part to help us all. :)

Our Wet Day at the Puyallup Fair - September 2008

I love this picture (little blurry). Jakob had more fun splashing in the puddles than inside the fair. He was a little unsure of the Puyallup Fair and wanted to be carried and cuddled. Not fun for mom and dad.
The fair had an exhibit of "Animals Around the World", the zebra was the talk of the fair. We also saw baby pigs, huge cows and lots of chickens and goats. Kellen thinks it's funny to make silly faces in all his pictures, so you lucky viewers of this blog will get to see them all.
Another highlight of Jakob's (and all of us) was eating the GIGANTIC ELEPAHNT EARS! Daddy had given Jakob a little taste of the yummy deep fried treat and before we knew it, Jakob was taking matters into his own hands and eating it his way.
So as I mentioned before, Jakob's favorite things at the fair were the food and the puddles. We were those awful parents that put our 2 year old on the roller coaster, knowing he wouldn't like it but just wanted to see what he would do. He went around once and the ride operator stopped the ride to take him off. We did get looks from other parents, but it was pretty funny to watch. If Jakob never grows up loving roller coasters we will know why. Now he has this blog to prove we are horrible parents. Sorry Jakob.

WITHOUT JAKOB!
Kellen on the other hand loved the rides, he could not get enough.
